- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Your Questions, Our Answers
How much does it cost to install a floor on the South Shore?
The cost of installing a floor varies depending on the square footage, the type of material chosen, and the preparation of the subfloor. At L'Artisan Espace Design, your estimate is completely free and non-binding. We’ll provide you with a detailed quote right from the first consultation—no unpleasant surprises.
How long does it take to install a floor?
The time required depends on the size and type of floor. As a general rule, a standard room can be completed in one day. For an entire house, allow two to five days. We’ll confirm the timeline when we provide the quote, and we’ll stick to it.
Is the installation covered by a warranty?
Yes, absolutely. All of our installation work is covered by a labor warranty. If a problem arises after installation, our team will return at no charge to fix it.
What is the difference between engineered wood flooring and solid hardwood flooring?
Solid hardwood is a sturdy plank that can be sanded and refinished multiple times. Engineered wood consists of cross-laminated layers with a natural wood veneer on the surface—it is more stable in the face of humidity fluctuations in Quebec’s climate.
Can you install vinyl flooring in a basement or bathroom?
Yes, luxury vinyl flooring (LVP) is one of the best options for high-moisture areas. Waterproof and durable, it’s ideal for basements in Brossard or La Prairie, where temperature fluctuations are more pronounced.
Do you offer sanding services for existing wood floors?
Absolutely. We offer sanding and restoration services for existing hardwood floors throughout the South Shore. This is often the most cost-effective solution for breathing new life into old, worn-out floors rather than replacing them.
